Last week, the NETTAG+ project took part in the Med Lighthouse Bootcamp, organised by the BlueMissionMed project during the ECOMONDO Circular Economy Fair in Rimini (4–7 November 2025).
On 5 November, Stefania Campogianni from WWF Mediterranean presented the NETTAG+ acoustic tag to an audience of regional and local authorities and fishing associations. The NETTAG+ project was highlighted as one of the transformative solutions promoted by BlueMissionMed to accelerate the EU Mission Ocean and Waters and tackle pollution in the Mediterranean.

On 6 November, Stefania Campogianni was invited to join a panel discussion on “Capacity Building Actions and Interventions for the Sustainable Development of Coastal Communities”, organised by Ecomondo STC and the fishing cooperatives FLAG/GALPA Costa dell’Emilia-Romagna. Together with a large audience of fisheries representatives, the discussion focused on solutions to combat marine litter, strengthen climate resilience, and support local fishing communities in accessing markets and ensuring long-term livelihoods.
The NETTAG+ Virtual Reality experience, developed by USC, also attracted significant attention. Many visitors enthusiastically tried the immersive tool, joining the crew of our fishing vessel in taking action against marine litter.

A big thank you to the BlueMissionMed project for inviting us to join such a dynamic and motivated community of solution developers, city representatives, marine protected areas, regions, and institutions from across the Mediterranean. By strengthening collaboration and co-creation, and connecting science with policies and investors, we can advance the protection and regeneration of our ocean and the communities that depend on it.
